In 2021 I was the recipient of a Guinness Partnership Aspire Award.
At the time when I applied for the award, I was creating collections from my archive from the past 5 years. I felt I needed to make something from the activities and decided that I would try to make a photo book with the content. As an amateur trying to understand my camera was hectic, as I attempted to use the settings in every which way! But using the results from the practice is now a really important activity.
Trying to use the photos effectively to create cohesion in the collection is not very easy, often the photographs lack context for an academic production, but a product that reflects your intentions as a beginner can merit the learning curve and inspire like minded amateurs.
So I characterised myself as an author of a book store product and enjoyed fitting the best of my collection to a familiar product. It reflects the curiosity, confidence, motivation and inspiration that stimulated me in the creation of the content.
The book consists of three chapter narratives that I hope will encourage confidence to adventure with the camera as a creative tool. Each chapter reflects the stimulus that attributed to my learning curve.
I'd really like to complete the project and donate the book to U.K. economic retail stores, with input from experienced professionals.
